Guys, most of you hate thinking about shoes, so we’ll make this brief. The chukka is the shoe your date wants you to wear when you go out. What’s a chukka? Chukkas are ankle high leather boots that usually have only two or three eyelets on each side for lacing.
When the Sunday shoes are too stuffy and the sneakers are too ugly, you wear the chukka. They can be worn with dress pants, or jeans making them a versatile piece of your wardrobe.
If this all sounds too fancy pants for you, you should know the style originated from the desert boots worn by the British military (that seems manly).
