There are missionaries and then there are “Mission Legends.” 
Think Dan Jones who baptized thousands. Or…there’s Elder Bryant who accidentally lit his pants on fire during a discussion. Both live on in a blaze of glory.
So, you want to be a mission legend, huh? As a returned missionary, you don’t have many options if you didn’t seal the deal on your mission. However, there is a way.
It involves an accomplice, three gallons of ice cream and total dedication to the cause. Imagine your former mission buddies having this conversation:
“Hey do you remember Elder Harper?”
“Of course I do. He married Sister Jones.”
“Weren’t they in the same district?”
“Yeah! I wonder what was going on during those district meetings?”
Simple but so effective. Marry someone from your mission and you’ve become an instant mission legend. The juicy details of your budding relationship whether real or imagined will be hashed out anytime the mission comes up.
Now if you’re a real go getter and want to be more than a legend, you have to do something truly daring—like marry the mission president’s daughter.
