Returned Missionaries love to bring home soccer jerseys but should they wear them?

If your mission was outside the States, you now know what the rest of the world does for fun—soccer. Who would have guessed?

To celebrate your love for the beautiful game, you likely brought home a soccer jersey. Despite the big beer logo and the bright primary colors, we bet it’s a really cool shirt.

But what should you do with it now that your home?

Sit down, you may be sorely disappointed to hear the answer. You can’t wear it. Yes, the truth is, outside of it being a pajama shirt, athletic wear, or something worn on the weekends, the soccer jersey shouldn’t be part of your regular wardrobe.

We know what you’re going to say: “But…but all the other returned missionaries do,” or, “I don’t have any others shirts because my siblings stole my clothes the day I left for the MTC,” or quite accurately, “soccer is cool.”

We hear you, and we feel your pain but here comes the tough love. Soccer is the beautiful game but jerseys are designed for functionality, not beauty. This means, to improve your style, and your dating life for that matter, use discretion when wearing the jersey.

With all of the bright colors, wearing one at an amusement park will help your friends find you.
